Meet, Greet and Eat!

Phila Deli owner Dennis Wobensmith has created a remarkably comfortable neighborhood establishment that has become a landmark in Lynchburg, Virginia.

It is in the Boonesboro Shopping Center wedged in between the Pizza Hut and the Montana Plains Bakery.

There are a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk and in-door seating for around 40 people. On most days, if you're not in by noon, it's possible that you will end up waiting for a table.

It is without a doubt, Lynchburg's most popular lunch deli and one of those places where you are likely to run into several friends and neighbors; and don't worry about parking; there is ample space for everyone.

The menu is "typical deli" with a wide assortment of everything.

For "Starters" consider the homemade chili or soft pretzels or maybe a basket of Freedom Fries with the Soup of the Day.

For the light appetites, go for the chili or soup with a half-sandwich.

The salads will tempt you with the BLT, the Grilled Chicken, Garden, Egg, Supreme and more. The Chilly Philly creations go from BLT's to chicken or tuna and the ever-popular Club or Corned Beef.

Like wraps? Got you covered with the Club, BLT, Buffalo Fried Chicken and more.

Can't have a deli without great burgers and dogs and these are exceptional.

Then we come to the Philly Cheese Steaks from Ben's Favorite to the Ultimate. For a real taste sensation try the Supreme with extra jalapenos; unbelieveable!

Somebody mention Hoagies? Phila Deli has the best, all in the Philadelphia tradition. It's hard to beat the traditional Italian Hoagie unless maybe it's the Black Forest creation.

Rounding out the many selections are a wide variety of plates, platters and specialty sandwiches.

It makes us wonder how Dennis keeps it all straight but then he has a lot of good help both in front and behind the scene.

The ambiance is all Philly and the collection of Philadelphia memorabilia adorning the walls is worth the visit.

Take a look at the menu and watch your appetite kick into gear.

When you are out and about in Lynchburg during the lunch hour, stop by and say hello to Dennis and super-star waitresses Meagan, Dayna and Jamie. It's a busy place but somehow they make it all come together.

There are three entrances to Boonesboro Center and the easiest for Phila Deli is the west one at the Hallmark Store. Drive in and take an immmediate right turn.
