Magnolia Foods is Lynchburg, Virginia's premier gourmet deli, specialty food and wine shop. It is well known throughout Central Virginia for its sandwiches, bag lunches, fabulous cappuccino brownies and breathtaking wedding cakes. 
The store and deli is located on Rivermont Avenue just one block east (toward town) of Randolph College. Come in and see their fantastic array of craft beers and handpicked wines, hard to find ingredients for your favorite recipes, freshly roasted coffee, huge cheese selection, and a wide variety of products made in Virginia. 
Stop in and pick up a custom gift basket, freshly prepared dinner to go, or let them help you with appetizers, dinner and dessert for your next party. They have everything you need to make life delicious! Guests visiting the shop can choose from a wide selection of gourmet sandwiches or soups, salads, side dishes and entrees from fresh prepared-to-go selections. Each of these items is available for dining inside or on the patio, or can be packaged for take out. A platter of sandwiches, deli platters or bag lunches can be prepared for your meeting or party. 
Magnolia has the honor of being voted the best deli in Lynchburg for 2008 and 2009 by readers of Lynchburg Living magazine. Try it for yourself and you will see why. The whole Magnolia experience reflects former owner Lucy Cook's and the entire staff's warm personality, creativity and hospitality. That's right, Lucy is the former owner, having sold Magnolia Foods to Adi McCauley in August 2011. Adi McCauley is no newcomer to Lynchburg or the food service biz. According to her bio, as reported by Casey Gillis in the August 31, 2011 BURG, she is a graduate of Johnson & Wales culinary program, started at Centra as a kitchen supervisor, worked her way up to executive chef and has run her own catering company. That's quite a list of accomplishments for a 30-something business entrepreneur. The current plan is to keep the Magnolia name, same basic menu, same staff and same excellent service. One experiment will be to keep the doors open until 10:00 pm on Thursday through Saturday. Hopefully, weather permitting, patrons will choose to sit outside on the patio and watch the cars go by on Rivermont. But wait, there's more. Magnolia Foods even hosts evening cooking and wine classes at their shop on a variety of topics. They also host informal no-fee tasting on Saturdays. So far there is no indication that those activities will change.
