Lynchburg restaurants are one of west central Virginia's best kept secrets. From very expensive, elegant fine dining to the best burger in the world and everything in between can be found in Lynchburg...if you know where to go. The idea here is to provide a guide to the best of the best of Lynchburg eateries according to the various categories of dining. Dining is probably the most subjective of subjects. Chefs change, managements change, menus change so what might be great today may be mediocre next year. We will try to keep up with such changes, at least on an annual basis, and keep our dining guide as current as humanly possible. Of course, Lynchburg has all the corporate fast food chains in abundance but that is not what we mean by "best kept secrets". There are numerous outstanding Lynchburg restaurants in private club settings which will not be covered in separate pages simply because, no matter how good they are, they are still private. An example is the dining room at the Boonesboro Country Club. It boasts a top golf course, a wonderful kitchen and menu, and atmosphere. The club is situated in the middle of spacious, beautiful, well manicured grounds off of highway 501 North on the way to the Blue Ridge Mountains. The point is that if you happen to land an invitation to dine at the club, don't pass it up. So choose your category, click on the link and bring your appetite.
